Shadowphoenix [Added: 01/23/04 | Harry Snape]This is a most excellent future fic, set almost 5 years after the fall of Voldemort. Seems that shortly after the battle, Harry went missing. Albus has finally found him- in a U.S. college of all places! Harry has partial amnesia and no memories at all of magic or his role in a wizarding war. To make matters even more complicated, there’s a new Dark Lord on the rise. Lucius Malfoy is stepping into the void created by Voldemort’s demise. What’s the best way for Malfoy to consolidate his power? Kill the ‘boy who lived’, of course. In order to protect Harry and help him regain his memory, Albus decides to send Snape. Yes, yes- the headmaster really needs to lay off the crack pipe! But Snape, being Snape, follows the old coot’s orders, thus ending up in a college dorm, wearing leather pants, and trying to get in tight with his new roommate. Are you beginning to see why I love this fanfic? I thought you might be! But for the more dense, I’ll just note that this story has it all- lots of action, plenty of plot and suspense, a crapload of humor (Snape and the microwave? Priceless!), and some great characterizations. I love this Snape- he’s got a biting wit that’s really brought out in both the internal and external dialogue. He’s also competent ‘Action!Snape’, which I dearly love. The evolution of his relationship with Harry is really enjoyable, and the hints of his history with Lucius add some nice depth to the whole situation. There are even some nicely realized OCs! Great story, highly rec’ed! As a happy bonus, the author’s working on a sequel, which I’ll no doubt be recommending once it’s done.
