[Added: 12/28/04 | Slash: Asami/Takaba ] Rec it? No

So, rageprufrock’s been doing this ‘12 Days After Christmas’ thing, which I can’t accurately describe because I didn’t pay all that much attention when I read the first one. From what I can gather, the subtitle should be ‘Completely Cracked-out Anime Porn Fic’. The shit is absolutely fascinating, even though I’ve never heard of any of the fandoms.

This story is no exception- You’re My Love Prize In Viewfinder is apparently about a young (aren’t they always) photojournalist named Takaba who manages to draw the attention of the insane, evil, yet oh-so-sexy (aren’t they always) mob boss Asami. Of course, this results in Asami buggering an unwilling Takaba. Frequently. Dude- have I mentioned that anime is completely cracked-out? Just checking. Anyway, go read the full write-up.

So, this short story mostly focuses on Takaba, who is trying to pull his life together. Being wiser than most anime characters, he figures that maybe he should stop investigation the Yakuza if he wants to stop getting raped. Unfortunately, despite the fact the rest of his life starts coming together as a result of this, he can’t stop thinking about his very mixed feelings regarding Asami. It doesn’t help when Asami, in the midst of a gang war that has resulted in the destruction of his apartment, shows up at Takaba’s and settles in.

Now, there actually isn’t any sex in this story, but the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife. I actually liked the read quite a bit- it had me off searching for fansubs (and having no luck- though I did find some other cracktastic anime). It’s really not enough of a story for me to rec it, but it’s a nice taste of a couple of really fascinating characters. I mean, they’re pretty fucked up- but they’re still fascinating. It’s kind of like reading Lex/Lionel fic- you just can’t look away, even though you know you should.
